Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is doing well today and that you all are able to relax and enjoy the festivities. Many people say that Christmas is their favorite holiday. This time of year is full of traditions and fun for family and friends. It’s a time to be joyful and see what new treasures rest under the tree. It’s a time to make cookies and other sweet treats. It’s a time to party with those close to us. One of my favorite things to do in the colder months is to drink hot chocolate or coffee. I’ve also found that mixing the two together makes for something really good. Amongst all the celebratory activities we engage in, this is also a time to hope. A time to celebrate the coming of our savior Jesus.
Hope is something we can cling to all year long, but Christmas is especially nice because this holiday is dedicated to it. We can focus on the things to come in the new year, and hope for good things to come to us and the people we love. Tough times have hit us all this year. So many 2020 comments have been thrown around because of how hard things are. But hoping for something better in 2021 can bring us positivity and joy. Not all of our endeavors succeed. Sometimes we don’t get our way. But that’s okay. God knows the path we will walk, and He will continue to bring us good things. We can trust in Him and have excitement for the blessings He will provide. God can also tell us to wait as well. While He can tell us no, He can also tell us not yet. It may be hard to hear that we need to wait for something we desire, however our Lord knows what is best. If He is telling us it isn’t time for a certain blessing to come our way, there’s a good reason for it. When we finally do gain the blessing, we will be in the best place to receive it, and we’ll be glad that we attained it when we did.
Many of us have heard the Christmas story of Jesus coming to earth as a baby born in a manger. On that night when He came into this world hope abounded. It abounded because our savior had arrived, and He would accomplish His goal of saving us all. As an adult Jesus died and paid the price for each and everyone of us. Through His death and resurrection we have freedom from sin. We no longer have to be shackled by the evil that plagues this world. That is the reason we have hope during this season. If the Lord had not come to earth in the first place, then His mission wouldn’t have been accomplished the way it needed to be. Because of Him, we are free. That freedom can bring us hope during the holidays, and give us reason to celebrate. 1 Peter 1:3-6 says “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His Great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.”
Hopefully the holidays are treating you all well. I know these times can be difficult for a multitude of reasons. But I encourage you to look to the good surrounding us that brings joy. There are many things that can give us life and deliver healing. Spending time with family, partaking in different hobbies, watching your favorite Christmas movie, or simply resting can all bring energy and nourishment to yourself. Remember to hold strong to the important things that make life special. It doesn’t matter if it’s big or small. All that matters is that you find life and joy from it. God blesses us in a great deal of ways. When we embrace those blessings and live in accordance with Him, true hope and peace radiate around us.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. The support that you all have shown to me truly means a lot. It’s been an awesome blessing to be able to write different articles on this site. Christmas impacts all of us in so many ways. And my desire for each and every one of you is that you find something special in this holiday. Make sure to do something that will bring you deep delight and fulfilment. Have a great rest of the day, and remember to take some time to reflect!
